Kevin J. Ebling, age 57, of Merrillville, IN, formerly of Fond du Lac, WI, died Monday, October 25, 2021, at Methodist Hospitals Southlake Campus in Merrillville, IN. He was born on April 21, 1964, in Fond du Lac, WI, the son of Urban and Vera (Conlan) Ebling. Kevin worked for Warehouse Specialists.
He loved spending time with the kids and grandkids including the annual long weekend to Wisconsin Dells and never forgetting to purchase his favorite fudge. He also enjoyed playing miniature golf, go carting, and adult adventures including Haunted houses or a game of pool or darts and good conversations with family and friends at a local pub. He loved life and loved nothing more than to make people smile. Often his Cheshire Cat smile caused one to suspect a prank may have been played on you. It was his giving nature and caring heart that we will all miss the most. If you were ever in need Kevin was always there to lend a helping hand. A Special occasion was always celebrated with a box of Hughes chocolates and will be dearly missed. Kevin loved all Wisconsin teams, especially the Packers.
Survivors include his children, Joseph (Jenna) Ebling, Anna-Marie Ebling, Tommy Fredrich, Jimmy Fredrich; his life partner of twenty-one years, Lisa Carpenter; the mother of his children, Tracy (Glen) Thompson; grandchildren, Hailey and Caleb, and Lizzy Frederich; grand puppies, Addie and Zoey; grand kitty, Leo; his siblings, David (Pamela) Ebling, William (Beverly) Ebling, and Cindy Shell; and many nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Donald Ebling; his in-laws, Merrill and Milene Hintz; one great-niece, Ari Ebling-Hopf.
Visitation will take place on Saturday, October 30, 2021, from 11:00 AM until 3:00 PM at The Cathedral Church of St. Paul, 51 W. Division St, Fond du Lac, WI, 54935. A Funeral Mass will follow the visitation at the Cathedral at 3:00 PM. Cremation will follow the service.
If ever there is tomorrow when we’re not together…there is something you must always remember. You are braver than you believe, stronger than you seem, and smarter than you think. But the most important thing is, even if we’re apart…I’ll always be with you.- A.A. Milne
Special thanks to the staff at Methodist Hospitals Southlake Campus for everything they did for Kevin.
To all of Kevin’s employees he had one final message, “Don’t screw up, I’ll be watching over you.”
