Foster GrandparentAdele M. Jaber Gielow, 90, of Fond du Lac, passed away Saturday, December 27,2008 at Hospice Home of Hope in Fond du Lac. She was born February 13, 1918 in Fond du Lac, the daughter of Mary Hanora and Michael Jaber originally of Lebanon. On August 24,1940, she married Francis (Blackie) M. Gielow of Fond du Lac, who predeceased her in 1967. Adele worked at the Infant Socks factory from the early 1940's through the mid 1950's. She was a sales clerk with Pranges and at Becker's shoe store in Fond du Lac. She belonged to the Rosary Society, St Patrick's and Sacred Heart churches, the Phoenician Daughters Club, an American Sewing Club, and ADVOCAP as a Foster Grandparent for 26+ years in many schools in Fond du Lac, the latest being the Chegwin Elementary School. Adele was honored in an award ceremony and dinner in May '08 for her community service through ADVOCAP programs. She loved playing card games, word find and Suduko puzzles; loved to dance and tell jokes. She crocheted afghans, potholders and made Lebanese food for family and friends.She is survived by two children, Mary F. DeKlyn of Norwalk, CT and Gerald L. Gielow of Theinsville, WI. Three grandchildren, Ward (Chip) B. DeKlyn, III (wife Andrea) of Schaumburg, IL, Amanda Gielow and Ryan Gielow of Theinsville, WI, a niece, several nephews, great-nephews and great-nieces and great-great nieces and nephews.She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Blackie Gielow, sister Helen (Emil) George, Danbury, CT, brothers George (Marina) Jaber, Fritz (Frieda) Jaber of Fond du Lac, WI, several brother and sister-in-laws, nephews and great nieces.



Visitation: Will be from 11:00AM to 2:00PM on Saturday, January 3, 2009 at Uecker-Witt Funeral Home, 524 N. Park Ave.Services: The funeral service will be held after viewing hours at the funeral home with the Reverend Edward Sippel officiating. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery.In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made in Adele's name to St. Agnes Hospice Hope, 239 Trowbridge Dr, Fond du Lac, WI 54935.Mary and Gerry extend special thanks to ALL the Hospice Home for Hope staff for their attention to and loving care of Adele at her apartment and at the Hospice Home. Additional thanks to Dr. Gabriel Litman and staff of Aurora; to Al and Shari Grinnell and staff of Consumers Pharmacy and to Vicki O'Grady, R.N. of County Health Dept. for their care of Adele.
