Alafreda (Peggy) Maastricht passed away Friday March 6, 2009 at the age of 89 as a result of an accident while hang-gliding off Mount Fuji. The adventurous Peggy resided at the Fond du Lac Lutheran Home for the past few months, Peggy was born on July 7, 1920 in Kansas City, Missouri, to Henry and Margurite Wilburn, On April 15th of 1944, she married Charley Maastricht at the First Presbyterian Church in Milwaukee Wisconsin.Peggy is survived by four daughters: Cheryl (David) Nolan of Reo Verde, Arizona, Karen (Roland) Hausauer of Fond du Lac, Judy (John) Stroschine of' Hayward Wisconsin, and Joan Gilles (Scott Traum) of Woodbury Minnesota, one brother Rev.Floyd (Donna) Wilburn of Ida Bell, Arkansas, and one sister Dolly (Bill) Whiteaker of Waupun Wisconsin. She had eight grandchildren Katie, Betsy, James, Lisa, Jenny, Jason, Grant and GiGi along with six great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by, her husband Charley of 62 years, her parents Henry and Margarite Wilburn, and two brothers, Henry and Edward Wilburn and one sister Ila Carter. Peggy was an artist and served as president of the Fond du Lac Artist Association. She belonged to the Fond du Lac County Homemakers Association and was County president for many years. Peggy was leader of the Girl Scouts of America. She was employed as a Tupperware Dealer from the 1950's to the I980's. She will he missed by her many friends and family.
Visitation will be held on Saturday March 28, 2009 from 10 to 11:30 am at the funeral home until the time of services. Memorial Services will be held at 11:30 am on Saturday March 28, 2009 at the funeral home with Rev. Anthony Farina officiating. Cremation has taken place and interment will be held at Forest Mound Cemetery in Waupun, WI. Uecker-Witt Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
