Alan R. Waller, 70, of 31 N. Royal Ave., died Thursday, October 13, 2005 at St. Luke's Medical Center. He was born August 7th, 1935, in Nelsonville, WI, the son of Orin and Ruth Waller. He graduated from Iola High School and later attended Oshkosh Business College. Alan served in the U.S. Army from 1954-1956. Most of his service time was spent in France. On May 11, 1957, he married LaVonne Olson at Our Savior's Lutheran Chruch in Iola, WI. He was employed by Morning Glory Dairy for 10 years and Mercury Marine for 25 years, retiring in 1991 due to ill health. He was active in Fond du Lac Boys Baseball as a coach and director for several years. He was inducted into the Youth Baseball Hall of Fame in October, 2004. Alan was a member of Immanuel-Trinity Lutheran Church, serving in several areas including usher, building and grounds committee, tape ministry, and counting team. Alan's hobbies included coin and stamp collecting, woodworking, playing cards, telling Norwegian jokes, and spending time with his grandchildren. Survivors include his wife, LaVonne; four children, Gregory (Renee) of Westminster, CO, Jeffery (Beth) of North Fond du Lac, Jane of Fond du Lac, and Jason (Tesia) of Mosinee, WI; mother, Ruth; seven grandchildren, Peter, Lilliann, Katie, Brittany, Jacob, Grace and Isabelle; brother Gary (Kathy) Waller; sister Mary (Rodney) Nelson; his dog companion, Rascal; nieces, nephews and many other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his father Orin and son Timothy.
· Services: A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, Oct. 17, 2005 at Immanuel-Trinity Lutheran Church, Fond du Lac, WI. Pastor Douglas Headman will officiate. A time of fellowship will immediately follow the memorial service.· Visitation: Visitation will be held from 4 to 8 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 16, 2005 at Uecker-Witt Funeral Home, Fond du Lac, WI. A second viewing will precede the memorial service at Immanuel-Trinity from 10 to 11 a.m. on Mon, Oct 17, 2005. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the Immanuel-Trinity Lutheran Church Building Fund. Uecker-Witt Funeral Home is serving the family.
