Albin F. Markevitch

Albin F. Markevitch, 89, of 345 1st Street, died Saturday, March 28, 2009, at his residence. He was born February 15, 1920, in Glassburg, PA, the son of George and Tillie Shaumbus Markevitch. On September 6, 1941, he married Geraldine Senecal in Fond du Lac at St. Louis Church. Mr. Markevitch was formerly employed by Mercury Marine as a machinist, retiring after 39 years of service. He was a four-year veteran of the US Coast Guard. Albin was a member of Knights of Columbus Council #664. He was known as an excellent golfer. Surviving is his wife, Geraldine, a son, Ronald (Diane) Markevitch of Platteville, WI, a granddaughter, Jacqueline (Eric) Paulsen of Winona, MN, and two great-grandsons, Aero and Zephyr, both of Winona. He is further survived by a brother, Anthony (Sylvia) Markevitch of Onalaska, WI. His parents, a sister, Adele Simolke, and a brother-in-law, Andrew Simolke, preceded him in death.



Visitation for Mr. Albin F. Markevitch will be on Tuesday, March 31, 2009, from 1:00 to 2:00 pm at St. Francis Home Chapel, 33 Everett Street, Fond du Lac. Liturgy of Christian Burial will be at 2:00 pm at the chapel. The Rev. Joseph Wolf, O.F.M. Cap will officiate. Cremation has taken place. Inurnment of cremated remains will be in St. Charles Cemetery, Town of Taycheedah, and will take place at a later date. Additional information and guestbook may be found at www.ueckerwitt.com
