Dr. Alfred F. PediDr. Alfred F. Pedi, 83, of 75 Heritage Court, died Monday, November 6, 2006, at ManorCare Nursing Home after a two-month battle with multiple health issues. Alfred Francis Pedi was born January 25, 1923, in Chicago, the son of Italian immigrants, Phillip and Marie Lupo Pedi. He graduated from the Northern Illinois College of Optometry in 1945. On October 19, 1946, he married his childhood sweetheart, Anna Pfeiffer, in Chicago. She preceded him in death on September 6, 1979. After practicing optometry for a brief time in Chicago and Delevan, WI, Dr. Pedi moved his young family to Fond du Lac, where he practiced optometry for more than 40 years. He was a member of the Noon Lions Club for over 35 years and was a past President of the club, and belonged to several local and national Optometric Associations. Curling was his favorite pastime. On July 10, 1981, he married Kathleen McCabe Schuessler of Fond du Lac with whom he celebrated 25 years of marriage this year. He was a member of Holy Family Parish.Dr. Pedi is survived by his beloved wife, Kathleen, his children; Christine Chronis of Bernard, Maine, Marianne (Lyle) Schaetzel, Celeste (Fred) Christ, Concetta (Mike) Bigsby, and Marla Ebert, all of Fond du Lac, Monica (Tony) Diab of Sun Prairie, WI, Claudia (Terry) Stealey of Wauwatosa, WI, Michelle (Jon) Wolf of Lake Mills, WI, Alfred Pedi Jr. of Green Bay, WI, Charlene (Peter) Schmidt of Mosinee, WI, and 20 grandchildren. Also surviving is a sister, Mary Jane (Richard) Frystak of Valencia, CA. Kathleen McCabe Schuessler Pedi's eight children further survive him. His parents, first wife, and a grandson, Anthony Acheson, preceded him in death.
Visitation for Dr. Alfred F. Pedi will be on Thursday, November 9, 2006, from 4 to 8 pm at Uecker-Witt Funeral Home. Liturgy of The Word for Christian Burial services will be on Friday, November 10th at 10:30 am at the funeral home with visitation preceding from 9:30 until the time of service. Paul Frystak will officiate and entombment will be in the Chapel of The Risen Christ Mausoleum, Calvary Cemetery. Additional information and guest book may be found at www.ueckerwitt.com.
