Alice M. Immel, 91, of Mt. Calvary, died Sunday, April 1, 2018 at Woodlands Senior Park. She was born July 28, 1926 in Fond du Lac, the daughter of Herbert and Ethel Coyne Ottery. On May 9, 1942 she married Gordon E. Immel at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, Fond du Lac and he preceded her in death on February 7, 1998. Alice was a member of Shepherd of the Hills, Eden and the Empire Social Club. Alice was a woman of faith and instilled her strong Christian beliefs in her family. She enjoyed playing cards, family get togethers, cooking, baking, going to her grandchildren’s sporting events, and loved surprise visits from her brother. She also loved to clean, while having a cleaning lady, she would always clean before she came and after.
She is survived by six children, Robert “Buff” (Darlene) Immel of Fond du Lac, Gordon Immel, Jr. of Pipe, Kathy (Gerald “Skook”) Blatz of Fond du Lac, John (Sue) Immel of Beaver Dam, Mike (Kathy) Immel of Fond du Lac, and Sue (Phillip) Lefeber of Malone; one son-in-law, Bernie Brenner of Mt. Calvary; 28 grandchildren; 37 great grandchildren; 13 great great grandchildren; one brother, Jerry (Louise) Ottery of Armstrong; sisters-in-law, Jane Ottery of Waupun and Dorothy Wollerman of Fond du Lac; brother-in-law, Jim (Lucia) Baldauf of Fond du Lac; many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Gordon; three daughters, Mary (Gordon) Rohlfs, Linda Brenner, and Christine Immel; daughter-in-law, Bonnie Immel; grandson, Timothy Blatz; two sisters, Patricia (Jack) Basler and Marge Baldauf; one brother, Tom (Mary) Ottery; sister-in-law, Geraldine (Oscar) Miritz.
The visitation will be held Thursday, April 5, 2018 from 1:00 – 4:00 PM at Shepherd of the Hills in Eden. The Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 4:00 PM on Thursday, April 5, 2018 at Shepherd of the Hills with Rev. Mark Jones officiating. Private burial will be held on Friday in St. Michael’s Cemetery, Dotyville.
The family extends a special thank you to Dr. Fabricius, Mary Kelm, the staff at Harbor Haven, Woodlands, and Agnesian Hospice for the care and compassion given to Alice and her family over the years.
A memorial will be established in Alice’s name.
