Alma Louise Salchert, of Salem and formerly of Marblehead and Swampscott, died Sunday, May 8, 2005 in Salem, MA. She was 92 years old.Born in Fond du Lac, Wisconsin, on July 10, 1912, she was the daughter of the late John and Alma (Hart) Salchert. Miss Salchert was raised in Wisconsin and graduated from the Fond du Lac High School in 1930. Following high school, she attended the University of Wisconsin at Oshkosh, graduating in 1934.Miss Salchert was a High School Mathematics Teacher in Fond du Lac, Wisconsin for many years. She moved to the North Shore area in the 1970's, and lived in Swampscott, Marblehead, and most recently Salem. She was a communicant of Our Lady Star of the Sea Church in Marblehead and was involved in many church activities. She also was a life long Boston Red Sox fan.She will be missed by many close friends including Myles and Anne Brown and their children, Shaun, and Kerry, all of Swampscott; and Tim and Pat Davern of Salem. She was predeceased by her long time friend, Sylvia Wood of Mablehead.A funeral mass will be celebrated on Thursday, May 12, 2005 at 10 A.M. at Our Lady Star of the Sea Church, 85 Atlantic Ave., Marblehead. Burial will take place in Fond du Lac, Wisconsin. Arrangements are under the direction of the Eustis-Cornell Funeral Home, Marblehead, MA.
