Alvin A. Dehring

Alvin A. Dehring, 80, of Fond du Lac, died Thursday, March 7, 2013 at Hospice Home of Hope. He was born June 7, 1932 in the Town of Springvale, the son of George and Meta Paul Dehring. He helped on the family farm in Eldorado prior to going into the service. Alvin served in the Korean War with the U.S. Army from November 1952 to November 1954. On October 24, 1964 he married Barbara Waite in Dubuque, IA. He was formerly a lineman with the Chicago Northwestern Railroad and later was employed with Nelson Insulating until his retirement due to ill health. Alvin was a member of Church of Peace and Trier -Puddy American Legion Post #75. He was an avid hunter and fisherman. Al and Barb did everything together. He enjoyed being called "Big Al". SURVIVORS: He is survived by his wife, Barbara Dehring, Fond du Lac one brother Marvin (Gerry) Dehring, Eldorado nieces and nephews Todd Dehring, Peter James, Susie Immel, Debbie Dehring, Margie Miller, Vickie Harkbarth and Dawn Dehring, Sister-In Law and Brother-In-law, Lou (Larry) Lohse, Fond du Lac and Special friends Steve (Jodee) Monfiles, Fond du Lac. He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Irving, and Darvin, one sister Marlene (John) James.



VISITATION: The visitation will be held from 4 to 7 PM on Sunday, March 10, 2013 at Uecker-Witt Funeral Home. FUNERAL: The funeral service will take place at 7:00 PM on Sunday March 10, 2013 at Uecker-Witt Funeral Home with Rev. James F.D. Martin officiating. Burial will be in Rosendale Cemetery. Trier- Puddy American Legion Post #75 will conduct military graveside services.Memorials appreciated to Hospice Home of Hope, Alzheimer's Association, and the Church of Peace.Uecker-Witt Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
