Alvira E. Lakin

Alvira E. Lakin, 88, formerly of 378 Grove Street, died Sunday, March 11, 2007, at Rose Blumkin Jewish Home in Omaha, Nebraska, where she had been a resident for the past year and one half. She was born February 21, 1919, in Boyd, Wisconsin, the daughter of Thedore and Ida Beyer, Keehn. On May 27, 1942, she married Edwin E. Lakin at the Church of Peace, with the Rev. Karl Koehler performing the ceremony. Mrs. Lakin was a member of the Church of Peace. She was formerly employed by the Fond du Lac Department Store. She graduated from Goodrich High School in 1937.Surviving are two sons; Gary E. Lakin and his wife Rosie of Naples, FL, and David J. Lakin and his wife Lynda of Omaha, Nebraska; four grandsons, Gary A. Lakin and his wife, Dawn, of Fond du Lac, Bernard E. Lakin of Naples, FL, Timothy J. Lakin of Fond du Lac, and David R. Lakin of Ankeney, Iowa; one granddaughter, Heather M. Steffen, and her husband, Dustin, of Blair, Nebraska, and two great-granddaughters of Fond du Lac, and one great grandson of Omaha. A sister-in-law, Jeanette Krebs of Dickinson, ND, further survives her. Her parents and husband preceded her in death.



Visitation for Mrs. Alvira E. Lakin will be on Thursday, March 15, 2007, from 12 noon to 3:30 pm at Uecker-Witt Funeral Home. Funeral services will be on Thursday at 3:30 pm at the funeral home. The Rev.Sharon Stier will officiate and burial will be in Estabrooks Cemetery. Additional information and guest book may be found at www.ueckerwitt.com
