Alyce R. Manthey

Alyce R. Manthey, 96, formerly of 486 Roosevelt Street and a current resident of Grancare Nursing Home, died Thursday, August 15, 2013. She was born September 4, 1916 in Tunbridge, ND, the daughter of Andrew and Regina Olson Sand. On November 29, 1941 she married Marlin L. Manthey at Church of Peace and he preceded her in death on January 30, 2000. Alyce was a sales clerk for the Fond du Lac Department Store for 20 years retiring in 1962. She enjoyed big band music, watching the Milwaukee Brewers, and loved bowling. She is survived by one son, Steven Manthey, Salt Lake City, UT; a dear niece, Lorna (Nicholas) Heilman, Grand Forks, ND; special caregivers, Jim and Cathy Schroeder, Fond du Lac; and her friends on Roosevelt Street who helped look after her. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Marlin; five sisters, Anna, Rachel, Alpha, Magda and her four year old sister, Emma.



A memorial service will be held at 2:00 PM on Wednesday, August 21, 2013 at Shrine of Rest Mausoleum, Ledgeview Memorial Park with Rev. Edward Sippel officiating. There will be no visitation prior to the service.
