Ambrose E. Braun

Ambrose E. Braun, age 94, of Taycheedah, died Monday, September 8, 2014 at Hospice Home of Hope. He was born in Silica on December 16, 1919 the son of John and Gertrude (Schneider) Braun. On May 24, 1952 he married Helen M. Uebel at St. Joseph’s Church in Fond du Lac. Ambrose served in World War II from February 27, 1942 to October 13, 1945. He was a scout in the 254th Infantry covering the middle eastern theatre of Africa, Italy, France, Rhineland, and Central Europe.



He worked at Ruepings for ten years and then for Damrow until his retirement. He was a member of Holy Family St. Peter’s and St. Joseph’s Churches. He belonged to Trier-Puddy American Legion Post #75. He was an avid bowler in many leagues and enjoyed watching the Packers. His pride and joy were his children and grandchildren.



SURVIVORS: his wife Helen Braun of Taycheedah; three sons, Edward (Kathy) Braun and children Andrea, Denise, and Kevin Braun; Gregory (Bonnie) Braun and children Todd and Heidi Zivkovich and their son Trey, Teresa McIntosh and her children Chloe, Elijah, and Ellie; Leo (Rosa) Braun and children Rachelle and Lauren; two daughters, Nancy (Robert) Wirtz and children Elizabeth (Adam) Figarsky and their son Jack, Madeline Wirtz (fiancé Colin Julliard); Janet Braun and her two daughters, Jessica Breitbach and Michelle Bretibach (fiancé Steve Brandt). Ambrose is further survived by two sisters in law, LaVerne Braun and LaVerne Uebel, also many nieces, nephews, and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; six sisters, Martha (Fred) Stephanie, Rose (William) Abler, Olive (Ray) Stephanie, Mary (Peter) Becker, Angela Braun, Sally (Ervin) Schaefer; six brothers, Melchior Braun, Alois (Bernice) Braun, Herman (Mildred) Braun, Isidore (Agnes) Braun, Leander (Germaine) Braun, and Alphonse Braun; brother in law, David Uebel; sister in law, Bernadette (Art) Ebert.



VISITATION: Friends may call Wednesday, September 17, 2014 from 9-11 A.M. at Holy Family Church, corner of Co. Rd. K and Co. Rd. T, 271 4th St. Way, Fond du Lac, WI, 54935. FUNERAL: A Mass of Christian Burial will take place at 11:00 A.M. at Holy Family Church. Entombment will follow at Chapel of the Risen Christ Mausoleum, Calvary Cemetery, 686 Fond du Lac Ave, Fond du Lac.
