Ambrose M. Loecher

Ambrose M. Loecher, 83, of Fond du Lac, died Thursday, May 11, 2017 at his residence. He was born in McIntyre, Iowa on May 30, 1933 to John and Elizabeth (Koenigs) Loecher. Ambrose married Juliana Wettstein on September 10, 1955. She preceded him in death on December 10, 1984. He then married Patricia (Haensgen) Perry on May 29, 1993.



Ambrose retired from Mercury Marine after 35 years. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army. Ambrose was a member of Sacred Heart Church, Eagles Aerie #270, the Waupun American Legion, the Fond du Lac Senior Center and the Merc Retirees. He liked to play any game of cards with family and friends and enjoyed restoring lawnmowers.



Survivors include his wife, Patricia; 3 children, Carol (Ervin) Kraft, Barbara Bennin and Linda (Ed) Smith; 3 step-children, Robert (Susan) Perry, Steven Perry and Daniel (Jodi) Perry; 19 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; 1 brother, Clement (Janice) Loecher; a brother-in-law, Herbert Wettstein; 2 daughters-in-law, Carolyn (Hank) Peterson and Annette Loecher; and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.



He was preceded in death by his first wife, Juliana; 2 sons, Donald and DuWayne; a sister, Irene (Lee) Miller; a grandson; a great-granddaughter and his parents. Also, preceding him was a brother-in-law, Bernard (Helen) Wettstein; and 3 sisters-in-law, Rita (Harvey) Freund, Mary (Herman) Manthey and Monica (Bob) Seal.



Visitation will take place on Friday, May 19, 2017 from 4:00 PM – 8:00 PM at Uecker-Witt Funeral Home, 524 N. Park Ave. in Fond du Lac. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 AM on Saturday, May 20, 2017 at Sacred Heart Church – Holy Family, 200 S. Peters Ave. in Fond du Lac. Visitation will begin at 9:00 AM and continue until the time of Mass. Burial in Calvary Cemetery will follow the services with military honors presented by the Waupun American Legion.
