Anita E. PetrieAnita E. Petrie, 90, of Fond du Lac, died Friday, February 25, 2005, at St. Agnes Hospital. She was born June 25, 1914, in Mt. Calvary, a daughter of Nicholas and Julia Schrage Weber. On June 23, 1937, she married Clarence J. Petrie in Mt. Calvary. He preceded her in death on May 15, 1983. Mrs. Petrie was a member of Holy Family Parish-St. Patrick's Church, the Daughters of Isabella, and the Lions Club Auxiliary. In 1937, she and her husband founded Petrie's Bavarian Restaurant in Fond du Lac where she worked until her retirement in 2001. During dining hours, she and her husband entertained their customers by playing the organ. In 1959, Mrs. Petrie and her husband acquired the first Kentucky Fried Chicken franchise in Wisconsin. Surviving are four daughters, Annette (Charlie) Hawkins of Madison, VA, Judith Twohig of Oshkosh, Susan (David) St. Croix of Woodbury, MN, and Mary Laudolff of Fond du Lac, a son Edward (Mary) Petrie of Fond du Lac, eight grandchildren, and 11 great-grandchildren. Her parents, husband, three sisters, Laura Koenen, Sister Martha Weber, S.S.S.F. and Leona Brenner, three brothers, Albert, Harry, and John Weber preceded her in death.



Visitation for Mrs. Anita E. Petrie will be on Tuesday, March 1, 2005, from 2 to 6 pm at St. Patrick's Church. A Mass of Christian Burial will be on Tuesday, March 1, 2005, at 6 pm at St. Patrick's Church. The Rev. Edward Sippel will officiate and private family burial will be in Calvary Cemetery. Uecker-Witt Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. A memorial in Mrs. Petrie's name has been established. Additional information and guest book may be found at www.ueckerwitt.com
