Anita M. HankwitzAnita M. Hankwitz, 88, formerly of 860 S. Park Ave. and currently a resident of the Fond du Lac Lutheran Home died Wednesday, October 20, 2004 at the nursing home. Anita was born January 20, 1916 in the Town of Blackwolf, a daughter of Rudolph and Albertina Abram Weber. On July 11, 1936 she married Earl Hankwitz. He preceded her in death in 1988.Anita worked both at Brauer's Clothing and at the Postillion. She was a very active member of the Republican Party and was a delegate for the State of Wisconsin, receiving numerous plaques of recognition for her service to the party. She was also active in the DARE program, the United Commercial Travelers, and was an active member of Salem United Methodist Church and the Tri-C's. Survivors include two sons; Douglas Hankwitz of North Fond du Lac, Randolph (Maribeth) Hankwitz of Oshkosh, one daughter; Pam (Ron) Challis of CA, four granddaughters; Mindy Hankwitz, Jennifer (Andy) Rogers, Traci Hankwitz, Darci Atkins, three great grandchildren; Tonisha and Tannan Atkins and Derrik Hankwitz, two sisters; Ardella Sweet of Oshkosh, Sally Noe of Oshkosh, and two sister-in-laws; Elda Hankwitz of Fond du Lac and June McAdam of California. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, and numerous brothers and sisters.



Visitation for Mrs. Hankwitz will be held on Friday, October 22, 2004 from 4-8 P.M. at Uecker-Witt Funeral Home and again on Saturday, October 23, 2004 from 9-10 A.M. at Uecker-Witt Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, October 23, 2004 at 10:00 A.M. at Uecker-Witt Funeral Home with the Rev. David Byers-Dent officiating. Entombment will follow at Shrine of Rest Mausoleum.Memorials in Anita's name may be directed to Salem United Methodist Church.Uecker-Witt Funeral Home is serving the family.
