ANN R. HERMANNYAnn R. Hermanny, age 87 of Woodlands Senior Park, 77 Wisconsin American Drive, Fond du Lac. Died Tuesday, September 20,2005 at her residence. She was born in Fond du Lac on May 5, 1918. Ann grew up in Fond du Lac where she was an athlete in her youth, excelling in swimming, softball, and running. This was highly unusual for women in the Depression era. Ann was employed at Infant Sock's. During World War II, she was a Tech Sgt in the Army Transportation Corp. She served in France during the war and met her future husband in Paris. Ann had spent over 25 years in the Panama Canal Zone where all her children were born. During those years, she and her family would return to Fond du Lac every two years to visit relatives and friends. In 1970, Ann husband retired as a Canal Zone Police Lieutenant and the family moved to Fond du Lac with three school "“aged children. After these children graduated from Goodrich High School, Ann worked several years as a security officer at Mercury Marine. After leaving this position, she enjoyed her time with friends and family. She was an avid reader, enjoyed playing cards with friends and family. Ann was a long-term parishioner of Holy Family Parish-Sacred Heart Church.SURVIVORS: five children, Gene (Anne) Hermanny of Geneva, IL, Tom (Yong) Hermanny of Las Vegas, NV, Rita Hermanny (special friend John) of Chattanooga, TN, Joe (Julie) Hermanny of Lake Mills, WI, Al "AJ" (Bonnie) Hermanny of Fond du Lac, thirteen grandchildren, Alexander, Andrew, Theresa, Veronica, Alicia, Elizabeth, Jessica, David, Michael, Jude, Mitchell, and Troy "TJ", two great grandchildren, Sebastian and Magdalena, one sister, Lynn Fowler of San Antonio, TX, one brother, Joseph Faris of Phoenix, AZ. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Albert in 1971, two brothers, Bernard and Richard.



VISITATION: Thursday, September 22, 2005 from 4-8 P.M. at Uecker-Witt Funeral Home. FUNERAL: Friday, September 23, 2005 prayers at the funeral home at 10:30 A.M. and A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 A.M. at Holy Family Parish-Sacred Heart Church. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery. Uecker-Witt Funeral Home is serving the family.
