Anna Mae Herzig, 88, of Fond du Lac, died Monday, January 11, 2021 at Woodlands Senior Park. She was born May 16, 1932 in Wales, WI, the daughter of Thomas and Annie (Pritchard) Williams. Anna graduated from Waukesha High School and then received her Bachelors Degree from Whitewater Teachers College. On June 26, 1954 she married Roland Herzig in Wales, WI and over the last 66 years of marriage, the two of them enjoyed travels, camping trips, snowmobile races, and countless sporting events. Through all of their adventures they built a beautiful life together. Anna taught elementary education at Rosenow Elementary School and Parkside Elementary School until her retirement in 1990. Her faith was very important to her, she was a member of First Presbyterian Church in Fond du Lac. Anna enjoyed music, reading, animals, bird watching, and loved spending time with her family.
She is survived by her husband, Roland; daughter, Linda (Neal) Gibbens of Urbana, IL; daughter-in-law, Linda (John) Schroeder of Fond du Lac; four grandchildren, Casey (Kristy) Herzig, Emily (Alex) Beil, Emma (Marcus) Weyer, and Will Gibbens; six great grandchildren, Caleb, Hayley, Jaymes, and Samuel Herzig, Kellan and Clayton Beil. She was preceded in death by her parents; son, James Herzig; twin brother, Arthur Williams and brothers, Thomas Williams, Jr., Alun Williams, and Emrys (Mabel) Williams.
Cremation has taken place and a memorial service will be held at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to First Presbyterian Church in Anna’s name.
