Anthony C. "Tony" Schneider

Anthony "Tony" C. Schneider, 84, of Fond du Lac, died Tuesday, December 27, 2011 at the St. Francis Home. He was born on January 27, 1927 in Mount Calvary, the son of Victor and Frances Halfman Schneider. On January 13, 1951 he married Marlene "Sue" M. Huebschman. Marlene preceded him in death on December 22, 2003. Tony was employed with Mercury Marine for 27 ½ years retiring in 1991. He later worked for Ahern Gross Plumbing up to the time of his illness. He was a veteran of World War II serving in the US Army from 1945 to 1947 stationed in Japan. Tony was a member of Holy Family-St. Mary's Church, was a member and past president of the Holy Name Society, past president of the Forest Athletic Club and a member of Trier-Puddy American Legion Post No. 75 where he served as president of the firing squad and played on the dart ball team. He was a honorary member of the Knights of Columbus Council #664. He enjoyed music and dancing, golfing, family, playing cards and loved going to his grandchildren's events.SURVIVORS: Tony is survived by nine children, Wendy (Robert) Plawski, Medford, and their children, Timothy (Lori) and great-grandson Andy, St.Peters,MO and Daniel (Susan) Plawski, Madison; Catherine (Butch) Drew and their children, Sara (Wade) Stoinski and great-grandchildren, Iana, Kali and Kennedy of Fond du Lac and Benjamin Drew of Fond du Lac; Raymond (Catherine) Schneider, Boulder Junction and their daughter, Erica (Ryan) Colwin, Waukesha; Joan (Paul) Mittelsteadt, Miramar,FL; Chuck (Julie) Schneider, Fond du Lac and their son Christopher (special friend Jenna) and great-granddaughter Aubrey Schneider, Whitewater; Diane (Joe) Thome, Malone and their children Lindsay (Kevin) Last, Malone and great grandchildren, Christopher and Cameron, and Jessica (Jason) Korb, Hilbert and great granddaughter, Lexie, Tyler and Elizabeth; Bill (Beth) Schneider, Malone, and their children Justin and Olivia; Rose (Tim) Ahern, Fond du Lac, and their children, Brendan, Sean, Egan, Owen, and Colin; Bob (fiancée, Brooke) Schneider, Fond du Lac; one son-in-law, Mark (Maureen) Kraus, Fond du Lac, and their children, Jacob and Adam; Tony's special friend, Lois Koenigs, Malone. He is further survived by siblings, Olive Richter, Fond du Lac, Martha Laudolff, Fond du Lac, Frances Stubbe, North Fond du Lac, Pat (Robert) Pittler, Fond du Lac, Mary White, Fond du Lac, John (Marion) Schneider, Fond du Lac, Ed (Marie) Schneider, Fond du Lac, Al (Bette) Schneider, Fond du Lac, Leo (Carol) Schneider, Fond du Lac, Vic (Mary Lou) Schneider, Fond du Lac, Jim Schneider, Fond du Lac; one brother-in-law, Elroy (Connie) Huebschman, North Fond du Lac; three sisters-in-law, Mary (Karl) Krueger, Fond du Lac, Nancy (Joe) Murphy, Eden; Rita Huebschman, North Fond du Lac. He is further survived by many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; two children, Debra and an infant son, Charles; one sister, Marie; two brothers, Gregor and Norbert; his mother and father-in-law, Arlin and Ethel Huebschman; brothers and sisters-in-law, Evie Schneider, Gerald Richter, Albert Laudolff, Mildred Schneider, Judy Schneider, Willard Stubbe, Lee White, David Huebschman.



VISITATION: will be from 4 "“ 8 PM Friday, December 30, 2011 at St. Mary's Church, Holy Family Parish, 93 Marquette Street, Fond du Lac. The Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 AM on Saturday, December 31, 2011 at St. Mary's Church, Holy Family Parish with Rev. Victor Capriolo officiating. Entombment will follow in the Chapel of the Risen Christ Mausoleum, Calvary Cemetery. Trier Puddy American Legion Post #75 will conduct military graveside services.The family is especially grateful to the staff of the St. Francis Home for their loving care of Tony during his stay.In lieu of flowers memorials appreciated to St. Francis Home, Holy Family Parish, or Trier Puddy American Legion Post #75.Uecker-Witt Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
