Artcy Joy Fuhrmann

Artcy Joy (Goehring) Fuhrmann, 98, of Fond du Lac, died on Wednesday, August 4, 2021, at Maple Meadows Assisted Living. She was born on April 29, 1923, in Hazelton, ND, the daughter of Clarence and Susanna (Illchen) Goehring. On July 9, 1946, she married William Fuhrmann in Hazelton, ND. They had five wonderful children together. Artcy was a Christian day school teacher for 41 years. She first taught all eight grades in a one room school during World War II. She was an active member of Faith Lutheran Church, Fond du Lac and taught her last 20 years in Faith’s Christian day school. She was a supporter of Winnebago Lutheran Academy and the Fond du Lac Symphonic Band. She was an amazing woman to her family, who rarely got five hours of sleep a night because of work she put in as a wife, mother, and teacher. She loved to sew, quilt, do correspondence, genealogy, and travel with her husband.



She is survived by four sons, Myron Fuhrmann, Martin (Kerianna) Fuhrmann, William “Bill” (Shelley Hendershot) Fuhrmann, and John Fuhrmann; nine grandchildren, Timothy (Laura) Fuhrmann, Joy (Ryan) Grede, David Baumann, Kristin (Patrick) O’Donnell, Kathryn (Raul) Bracamontes, Stephen (Sara) Baumann, Michael (Emily) Baumann, Brian Hendershot, and Alana Hendershot; eight great-grandchildren, William Fuhrmann, Audrina Fuhrmann, Maya Bracamontes, Christopher Bracamontes, Wyatt Johnson, Jacob Baumann, Clara Baumann, and Annalyn Baumann; sister, Anita Sholz; and numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; daughter, Elizabeth (Paul) Baumann; daughter-in-law, Mary Jude Fuhrmann; sister, Marcia Batzlaff; two brothers, Gerald and Robert Goehring; and brother-in-law Harold Fuhrmann.



The visitation will be held on Tuesday, August 10, 2021, from 4:00 PM – 8:00 PM at Uecker-Witt Funeral Home, Fond du Lac, WI. Funeral service will be held on Wednesday, August 11, 2021, at 11:00 AM at Faith Lutheran Church, Fond du Lac. Burial will follow at a later date at Weber Valley Cemetery, Elmwood, WI.
