Arthur G. Lyness, 81, of Fond du Lac, died Saturday, April 21, 2018 at St. Agnes Hospital. He was born January 21, 1937 in Fond du Lac, the son of Gilbert and Mae Nitschke Lyness. Arthur served in the National Guards from 1954 – 1962. On October 6, 1956 he married his high school sweatheart, Jane Lang at Presentation Church in North Fond du Lac.
Arthur farmed his entire life and also worked for Huber Olds, Michler Highway Service, Semenas Brothers Excavating, Annen Brake, and Armstrong Blum Manufacturing. He was a lifetime member of Presentation Church and also a member of the Blizzard Buzzard Snowmobile Club.
He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Jane; two children, Cheryl (Gary) Drews of Randolph and Ronald (Rosalind) Lyness of Eldorado; five grandchildren, Derek (Ami) Drews, Angela (Anthony) Salzman, Jason (Rae Marie) Drews, Ashley (Kevin) Lofy, and Annette Lueck; ten great grandchildren, Mason and Madisyn Owen, Carter and Callen Drews, Bryce, Sawyer, and Zayne Salzman, Lexie and Julia Drews, and Ryder Lofy. He was preceded in death by his parents; and his brother, Robert.
The visitation will be held from 4:00 – 7:00 PM on Wednesday, April 25, 2018 at Uecker-Witt Funeral Home. The Liturgy of the Word service will be held at 7:00 PM on Wednesday, April 25, 2018 at Uecker-Witt Funeral Home. Private family burial will be held Thursday in Estabrooks Cemetery.
