Arthur J. Ambroso Arthur J. Ambroso, 81, a resident of St. Francis Nursing Home for the past six years, died Wednesday, May 11, 2011. He was born September 2, 1929, in Eden, the son of Anthony and Angela Testolin Ambroso. On November 15, 1950, he married Emma Jane Perron at St. Mary's Church in Eden. Arthur was a graduate of Goodrich High School. He was a veteran of the US Air Force serving in Japan. For over 30 years, he was warehouse manager for Cryovac Food Packaging. He and his wife moved back to Fond du Lac in the early 90's after his retirement. Art was a member of the Bohlman-Grimes Veterans of Foreign Wars Post #1901, the Eagles Club of Minnesota, the Fond du Lac Yacht Club, the Fond du Lac YMCA, Disabled American Veterans, and the Retired Policemen's Group. Prior to leaving Eden, he coached Little League. Surviving are eight children, John (Teri) Ambroso of Fond du Lac, Bill (Deborah) Ambroso of Cheyenne, WY, Mary (Mike) Hays of Nipomo, CA, Jim (Kelli) Ambroso of Poway, CA, Kathy (Stan) Gilden of Fond du Lac, Ellen (Vito) Santoro of Greer, SC, Bob (Laura) Ambroso of Whittier, CA, and Sue (Preston) Scott of San Diego, CA. He is further survived by 22 grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, and a brother, Tony (Judy) Ambroso of Oshkosh. Also surviving is a sister-in-law, Pat Ambroso of Sun City, AZ, a brother-in-law, Jerry (Bea) Perron of Harlingen, TX, and a sister-in-law, Helen (Jim) O'Brien of Eden, a special "cousin", Gina Romalia of Fond du Lac, and many special nieces, nephews, and cousins across the United States. His parents, wife, a daughter-in-law, Sharon Ambroso, a brother, Gene Ambroso, and two brothers-in-law, John T. and John H.Perron preceded him in death.
Visitation for Arthur J. Ambroso will be on Sunday, May 15, 2011, from 4 to 8 PM at Uecker-Witt Funeral Home and again on Monday, May 16th from 8:45 to 9:30 AM at Holy Family Parish Sacred Heart Church, 678 Western Avenue. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 9:30 AM on Monday at the church. The Rev. Robert Stiefvater will officiate and burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery in Eden. A memorial has been established in Arthur's name.
