Arthur R. Hass, 91, formerly of Van Dyne, died Wednesday, March 6, 2013 at Tower View Villa in Rosendale. He was born November 27, 1921 on the family farm near Van Dyne, the son of Henry and Mildred Weber Hass. On November 3, 1945 he married Elsie E. Hass at St. Peter's Lutheran Church, Fond du Lac and she preceded him in death on February 20, 2008. Arthur was a lifelong member of St. John's Lutheran Church, Nekimi. He pursued a life-time profession of farming until semi retiring in 1993. He was a member of the Pickett Antique Engine Club, the Fond du Lac County Farm Bureau, and the Senior Saints at St. John's. Arthur loved farming and was particularly fond of threshing and his steam engine. He also loved spending time with his family. He is survived by three daughters, Marlene (Richard) Schultz of Van Dyne, Diane (David) Tigert of Oshksoh, and Cheryl (Randy) Miller of Fond du Lac; two sons, David (Paula) Hass and Gary (Teresa) Hass both of Van Dyne; a daughter-in-law, Marjorie Hass of Palm Springs, CA; 13 grandchildren, Kim (Jeff) Jodarski, Kari (Dan) Haegler, Candy Hass, Robby (Tina) Hass, Roxanne Tigert, Krystal (Chuck) Wachs, Jodi Miller, Jason (Jessica) Miller, Jeff (Kim) Miller, Joshua(Casey) Hass, Ashley Hass, Cailyn Hass, and Camryn Hass. He is further survived by 15 great-grandchildren, Samantha, Nathan, Alyssa, and Emily Jodarski, Hanna, Kelsey, Noah, and Carson Wachs, Sheridyn, and Ethan Tigert-Brayshaw, and Natalie, Madison, Owen, and Olivia Miller, Richie Haegler; one sister, Anita (Rueben) Hinz of Oshkosh; two sisters-in-law, Audrey Hass of Fond du Lac and Jeanette Keipe of Fond du Lac; one brother-in-law, Emil (Tola) Hass of Ocala, FL; and other relatives and friends. His parents; his wife, Elsie; a son, Ronald; two grandchildren; two brothers, Norbert and Albert Hass preceded him in death.
The visitation will be held from 10:00 AM "“ 1:00 PM on Saturday, March 9, 2013 at St. John's Lutheran Church, Nekimi. The funeral service will be held at 1:00 PM on Saturday, March 9, 2013 at St. John's Lutheran Church, Nekimi with Rev. James Reiff officiating.
