Audrey J. Peebles

Audrey J. Peebles, 81, of 787 County Highway V, passed away on Tuesday, April 27, 2010 at St. Agnes Hospital. She was born June 15, 1928, in Fond du Lac, the daughter of Joseph and Mary Hetzel Deitte. On September 7, 1946, she was united in marriage to David J. Peebles, Sr. at St. Louis Church in Fond du Lac. He preceded her in death on October 8, 2005. Together they raised 13 children, their "baker's dozen." Audrey was a woman of many talents, which included cooking, hunting, fishing, gardening, playing cards, playing bingo, and storytelling. Surviving are eight daughters, Karen Skarda of North Fond du Lac, Margaret (Bob) Fields of Fond du Lac, Katy (BJ) Havlik of Neenah, Alice (Scott) Mulholland of Taycheedah, Sue (Tim) Smith of Mt. Calvary, Ann (Joe) Wettstein of Fond du Lac, Lisa (Ralph) Fields of Mt. Calvary, and Lori Peebles of Fond du Lac, five sons, David J. (Sharon) Peebles Jr. of Fond du Lac, Michael (Mary) Peebles of St. Peter, Thomas Peebles of Fond du Lac, John (Chris) Peebles of Oshkosh, and Mark (Fiancé) Robin Guell) Peebles of Fond du Lac. She is further survived by 29 beloved grandchildren, Daniel, James, Keri, David III, Shari, Patti, John, Michael, David, Patrick, Robert, Jenny, Billie Jo, Bobbi Jean, James, Ali, Peter, Jacob, Scott, Shawn, Maggie, Jordan, Jennifer Jo, Joey, Kelly, Ashley, Faith, Courtney, Matthew, and 20 great grandchildren. Her parents, husband, beloved granddaughter, Angela Fields, son-in-law, James A. Skarda, four sisters, Cele Wilhelme, Mary Ferguson, Betty Wendels, and Shirley Peebles, two brothers, Joseph and Sylvester Deitte preceded her in death.



Visitation for Mrs. Audrey J. Peebles will be on Sunday, May 2, 2010, from 4 to 8 pm at Uecker-Witt Funeral Home. Funeral services will be on Monday, May 3, 2010 at 9:15 am from Uecker-Witt Funeral Home and Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 am at Sacred Heart Church, 232 Peters Avenue, Fond du Lac. The Rev. Robert Stiefvater will officiate and burial will be in Calvary Cemetery. A memorial has been established in Mrs. Peebles' name.
