Audrey Mae Burkhardt

Audrey Mae Burkhardt, 77, of Fond du Lac, was called by our Lord on March 22, 2010, at St. Agnes Hospital. She was born May 25, 1932, in Fond du Lac, the daughter of Leo & Rose Steffes Willett. On August 2, 1951, she married George Burkhardt at St. Joseph's Church in Fond du Lac. She was a member of Holy Family Parish. Audrey was a 1950 graduate of St. Mary's Springs High School. She and her brother owned and operated the Rentit Shop for 25 years. She was a member of the Fond du Lac Bird Club, the Fond du Lac Homebuilders Association, and for many years, was a volunteer at the Salvation Army. Audrey took great joy in attending the sporting and other events in the lives of her children and grandchildren. Her passions were family gatherings, bird watching, reading, playing cards, gardening, and spending time at "The Shack." Surviving is her husband, George, two daughters, Jane (Fiancé' Kurt Perry) Knueppel and Mary (Mark) Leicht, both of Fond du Lac, a son, Michael (Roxanne) Burkhardt, also of Fond du Lac, 9 grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren. She is further survived by three brothers, Carl (Mary) Willett of Minoqua, WI, Ronald (Pat) Willett of Pickney, MI, and David (Ursula) Willett of Fond du Lac, and Special Friends, Joe and Sue Stoll and their children, Lisa and Scott of Fond du Lac. Her parents, a son, Joseph, and a brother, Robert, preceded her in death.



Visitation for Audrey Mae Burkhardt will be on Friday, March 26, 2010, from 4 to 8 pm at Uecker-Witt Funeral Home, and again on Saturday, March 27th, from 9:30 to 10:30 am at Holy Family Church, 271 4th Street Way, Fond du Lac. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:30 am on Saturday at the church. The Rev. Luke Strand will officiate and burial will be in St. Charles Cemetery.
