Barbara Ann Spittel, 50, of Fond du Lac, died March 22, 2006 while on vacation in Florida. She was born on April 30, 1955, in Ripon, the daughter of Anna Beier and the late Arthur Beier. On December 29th, 1973, she was united in marriage to Duane Jeffrey Spittel at 1st Baptist Church in Ripon.Barbara graduated from Laconia High School in 1973. She spent a good portion of her young life living in Rosendale helping her mother and father operate the family farm. After years of sacrifice working difficult factory and heavy-lifting jobs, she went back to school and attained her medical knowledge that allowed her to start a career in the Surgical Technology field. During her more recent time with us Barbara worked as a Surgical Technologist for St. Agnes Hospital. She enjoyed her work and the people she worked with. She did all of this while raising 3 children. She enjoyed spending her time with her loving husband and 3 children. She enjoyed spending time with her little angels (4 grandchildren) as well. She spent most of her time over last years with us taking care of her Mother. Her mother came close to passing at times, but with her faith in the Lord and continued hope she saw her Mother nurse back to good health. She devoted her time to caring for everyone around her. She touched many lives with her outgoing personality and spread joy to all who knew her. Barbara had a strong belief in her faith and believed in the Lord's ways each and every day. This belief fueled her strength. She enjoyed traveling throughout the country with her husband. She enjoyed collecting thimbles and would add a new thimble from every place her and her husband would travel to.
