Barbara M. SchroederBarbara M. Schroeder, 89, of 698 E. 2nd Street, died Sunday, April 30, 2006, at St. Agnes Hospital. She was born February 24, 1917, in Waunakee, WI, the daughter of Peter and Gertrude Endres. On January 9, 1943, she married Gilbert G. "Gib" Schroeder at St. Raphael's Church in Madison. Mrs. Schroeder was a member of Holy Family Parish, attended Sacred Heart Church, and was a former member of St. Patrick's Church, where she was a member of the Altar & Rosary Society. For 17 years Barbara was employed by Woodworth Junior High School, working in the cafeteria. She was a volunteer at the Fond du Lac Healthcare Center for over 20 years and also in New Holstein where she helped package goods for shipment to overseas missions of the church. Barbara was the creator of the recipe for chicken salad at Stop N' Shop and was known as the "cookie Grandma." She loved collecting Cardinals and was an avid Brewers fan.Surviving is her husband, Gilbert, four sons, Richard (Sharon) Schroeder of Eldorado, James (Cathy) Schroeder of Fond du Lac, and Donald (Sue) Schroeder and David (Christy) Schroeder, all of Richmond, TX. She is further survived by nine grandchildren, Joe Schroeder, Chris Schroeder, Mike (Amy) Schroeder, Jill Schroeder, Matt (Robin) Schroeder, Julie Schroeder, Kim (Chris) Moayedi, Nick Schroeder, and Jennifer Schroeder, and five great-grandchildren, Rylee, Emily, Evan, Madeline, and Tess. Also surviving are nieces, Phyllis Lewis and Barbara Endres, both of Madison, nephews, Tom Fell and Bill (Jackie) Fell, all of Madison, and special friends, Alyce Manthey of Fond du Lac, and Alice Brausen of Madison. Her parents, a sister, Catherine Fell, and two brothers, Karl and Bernard Endres preceded her in death.



Visitation for Mrs. Barbara M. Schroeder will be on Tuesday, May 2, 2006, from 4 to 7 pm at Uecker-Witt Funeral Home, and on Wednesday, May 3, 2006, from 9:30 to 10:30 am at Sacred Heart Church. Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 10:30 A.M. at the church. The Rev. Edward Sippel will officiate and entombment will be in the Chapel of The Risen Christ Mausoleum, Calvary Cemetery.
