Barbara Zimmerman

Barbara Zimmerman, 71, of Rosendale, passed away on Wednesday, May 31, 2023, at Lake Point Villa with her loving family by her side. She was born February 13, 1952, in Waupun, the daughter of Donald and Ruth (Mertens) Gillett.

Barb was a loving and caring soul, who dedicated her life to teaching in the Rosendale Brandon School District for 20 years. After retiring, she selflessly volunteered at Tower View Assisted Living Facility, establishing a Kindle/Reader program for its residents. On May 25, 1974, Barb married her loving husband, Jay Zimmerman. She was a loving mother who brought immense joy to her family. In addition to her children, Barb’s love and guidance extended to her precious grandchildren, who brought boundless happiness into her life.

She is survived by her husband, Jay; three children, Erin (Corey) Grimes, Keri (Matt) Zank, and Andrew (Sarah) Zimmerman; three grandchildren, Owen and Abby Zank, and Fox Zimmerman; two brothers, James (Mary) and Timothy Gillett; sister, Judy (Gary) Rosencrans; brother-in-law, James (Susan) Zimmerman; sister-in-law, Mary (Tim) McNamara; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, Don and Ruth.

The visitation will be held on Tuesday, June 6, 2023, from 3:00 PM – 7:00 PM at Uecker-Witt Funeral Home. A time of remembrance will follow at 7:00 PM. Cremation has taken place.

The family would like to extend special thanks to the staff at Agnesian Adult Day Services, the entire staff at Lake Point Villa Assisted Living, especially Brandi, Brittany, and Abby, and AseraCare Hospice and nurse Tammy.
