Beatrice J. "Boots" Shepherd

Beatrice J. "Boots" Shepherd, 76, of W7058 Melody Lane, died Tuesday, January 05, 2010, at her residence. She was born June 16, 1933, in the Town of Eden, the daughter of Walter and Delores Buechler Immel. On February 14, 1969, she married Jim Shepherd in Oshkosh. Beatrice was a member of Immanuel Trinity Lutheran Church. She was formerly employed by Wisconsin Telephone Company as an operator for 17 years, was a nurse's aide for 10 years, and during the Christmas season, worked part time for Miles Kimball Company of Oshkosh. For over 12 years, Boots and her husband raced and showed Huskies through out the Midwest. Surviving is her husband, Jim, her beloved pets, dogs Yuri, Brandy, and Tovic, and cats, Tanner and Skeeter, and two sisters-in-law, Marge Immel of Fond du Lac and Evelyn DeNell of Appleton. She is further survived by three nieces, Karen (Gale) Sippel of Dry Ridge, KY, Beverly (Tom) Goebel of Eden, and Debbie (John) Waterworth of Fond du Lac, six nephews, Butch (Laura) Immel of Fond du Lac, Kevin (Kerry) Immel and Ricky Immel both of Eden, Ronnie Immel of Fond du Lac, David (Julie) DeNell of Kimberly, WI, and Dan (Rita) DeNell of Peachtree City, GA, great-nieces and nephews, cousins, and other relatives and friends. Her parents, a brother, Duane, and a brother-in-law, Michael DeNell preceded her in death.



Visitation for Beatrice J. "Boots" Shepherd will be on Thursday, January 7, 2010, from 4 to 8 pm at Uecker-Witt Funeral Home, and on Friday, January 8, 2010, from 10 to 11 am at Immanuel Trinity Lutheran Church, 20 Wisconsin American Drive, Fond du Lac. Funeral services will be at 11 am on Friday at the church. The Rev. Shari Routh will officiate and burial will be in Ledgeview Memorial Park Cemetery.
