Dr. Bernard J. Mongin, age 90, a resident of Liberty House, died Monday. August 27, 2007 at his residence.He was born on March 15, 1917 in Green Bay the son of Francis and Clara La Fontaine Mongin. On February 3, 1951 he married Phyllis R. Wahls in Fond du Lac. She preceded him in death on May 11, 1997. He was a veteran of the World War II serving in the U.S. Army. Dr. Mongin was a graduate of Logan Chiropractic School in St. Louis, Missouri. He practiced in Fond du Lac for 50 years and helped many people throughout his career. He enjoyed boating.He is survived by his sons William "Bill" (Laurie) Mongin, North Fond du Lac, Richard (Marlou) Christenson, Sacramento, CA., two grandchildren, Chad Mongin, Fond du Lac and Lisa (Troy) Jacob, Fond du Lac, and one great-granddaughter, Emma Jacob. He is further survived by a brother, Tom (Joy) Mongin, Green Bay, sister-in-laws, nieces, and nephews. Dr. Mongin was preceded in death by his parents, wife, one sister, Sister Clare Francis Mongin, and five brothers, Fran, John, Ambrose, Walter and Vince.
The family will receive family and friends on Friday, August 31, 2007 from 1:00 P.M. to 2:00 P.M. at Uecker-Witt Funeral Home. Memorial services will be held Friday, August 31, 2007 at 2:00 P.M. at the funeral with inurnment to follow at Rienzi Cemetery." The family would like to extend special thanks to St. Agnes Hospice Hope. They would also like to thank the staff at Liberty House especially Penny and Barb with their special care made Bernie's last year on earth enjoyable."Uecker-Witt Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
