Bernard L. "Bernie" KaufmanBernard L. "Bernie" Kaufman, 72, of 444 E. Scott Street, died peacefully on Monday, February 21, 2005, at his residence surrounded by his family. He was born June 9, 1932, in Appleton, the son of Lawrence and Gladys Michels Kaufman. On August 29, 1953, he married Martha "Maisie" Adami in Appleton. Mr. Kaufman was a member of Holy Family Parish-St. Mary's Church. He graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Madison School of Pharmacy in 1954. From 1961 to 1971, he owned Kremer Pharmacy. He was later employed by Dana & Worm, Chatterton Pharmacy, and Pharmacy Plus. Bernie's true love was his family and friends. He was a devoted husband and father. He was a die-hard Cubs fan, and enjoyed gardening, camping, and fishing at Manson Lake.Surviving is his wife of 51 years, Maisie, three daughters, Heidi (Pat) Prochnow of Green Bay, Debbie (Bill) Hebert of Fond du Lac, and Julie Kaufman of Fond du Lac, three sons, Mike (Sue) Kaufman of Waupun, Steven (Jackie) Kaufman of Fond du Lac, and Danny (Margaret) Kaufman of Roseville, MN, 13 grandchildren, 4 step-grandchildren, and 3 great-grandchildren. He is further survived by three sisters, Millie (Roland) Mader of New Braunfels, TX, Jeanie (Dick) Thiele of Seattle, WA, and Catherine Sanford of Green Bay. His parents preceded him in death.



Visitation for Mr. Bernard L. Kaufman will be on Thursday, February 24, 2005, from 11 am to 1:30 pm at St. Mary's Church. A Mass of Christian Burial will be on Thursday, February 24, 2005, at 1:30 pm at St. Mary's Church. The Rev. Victor Capriolo will officiate. Cremation will take place with inurnment of cremated remains in Calvary Cemetery. Uecker-Witt Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
