Bernice M. Pope

Bernice M. Pope, 94, a resident of the Fond du Lac Lutheran Home since 2009, died Saturday, October 22, 2011. She was born March 29, 1917, in Stockbridge, the daughter of Henry and Margaret E. Abschier Hostettler. Bernice was a graduate of the Kaukauna Teachers College. On July 22, 1940, she married Erwin R. Pope in Fond du Lac, and he preceded her in death on May 2, 1995. Living in Stockbridge, she moved to Wausau where she lived for 40 years, operating family restaurants. She moved to Fond du Lac in 1978. She was a member of the Fond du Lac Yacht Club Nauti-Gals, and Covenant United Methodist Church. Surviving is a son, Scott (Ali Ahman) Pope of Toronto, Ontario, Canada and a special friend, Tom Lange of Fond du Lac. Her parents, husband, two sisters, Florence and Cora, and four brothers, Gib, Glenn, Cecil, and George, preceded her in death.



At Bernice's request, her body has been donated to the Medical College of Wisconsin in Milwaukee, and there will be no formal funeral services. Uecker-Witt Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Additional information and guest book may be found at www.ueckerwitt.com
