Bertie C. Jacobs, 78, of Fond du Lac, died Monday, April 11, 2011 at her residence. She was born March 31, 1933 in Brownsville, WI, the daughter of Raymond L. and Julia A. Rockel Sampson. Bertie was a graduate of Winnebago Lutheran Academy class of 1950. On December 5, 1954 she married Richard T. Jacobs in Brownsville, WI. and he preceded her in death on March 28, 1994. She was a member of Faith Ev. Lutheran Church. In the 1950's Bertie worked for Infant Socks and at the Fond du Lac Court House for the Dairy Herd Improvement Association testing milk. Bertie took a break in her career to raise her three children and resumed her retail career working for Tempo and O'Briens. She also worked part-time for 37 years at Ledgeview Memorial Park Shrine of Rest Mausoleum, opening and closing and maintaining the inside of the mausoleum. She enjoyed gardening, bird watching, crossword puzzles, and especially loved spending time with her children, grandchildren and great grandchild.SURVIVORS: three children, Sue (Todd) Jacobs-Anthony, Mukilteo, WA, Randall (Julie) Jacobs, Fond du Lac, Tom (Lana) Jacobs, Fond du Lac; 12 grandchildren, Heather Anthony, Matthew Jacobs, Kelsey (special friend, Kody Porter) Jacobs, Erin Jacobs, Emily Jacobs, Sarah Jacobs, Douglas Jacobs, Olivia Jacobs, Brandon (special friend, Ashley Kuhlow) Jacobs, Colin Jacobs, Ryan Jacobs, Aiden Jacobs; one great granddaughter, Lily Porter; one sister, Victoria Koehn, Brownsville; sister-in-law, Pat Sampson. She is further survived by a special friend and neighbor, Evie Fritz, Fond du Lac; sister and brothers-in-law; nieces, nephews other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; one infant brother, Karlton; one brother, Cecil Sampson; one sister, Barbara (Raymond) Schwefel; sister and brothers-in-law.



VISITATION: will be from 10 am "“ 12 noon on Friday, April 15, 2011 at Faith Ev. Lutheran Church. The funeral service will be held at 12 noon on Friday, April 15, 2011 at Faith Ev. Lutheran Church with Rev. David Haugly officiating. Cremation will follow the traditional services and entombment will be held at a later date in Ledgeview Memorial Park Shrine of Rest Mausoleum.In lieu of flowers memorials are appreciated to Faith Ev. Lutheran Church or Winnebago Lutheran Academy.The family extends a special thank you to Dr. Karen Gremminger and staff at the Michael D. Wachtel Cancer Center at Mercy Medical Center, Oshkosh and Dr. Michael Vander Kooy and staff at the Central Wisconsin Cancer Center, Fond du Lac, and the caring staff of Agnesian Hospice Hope, Fond du Lac for the care given to Bertie.Uecker-Witt Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
