Betty J. Marx, 94, of Fond du Lac, Wisconsin, died Friday, March 5, 2021 at Adelaide Place in Fond du Lac where she received very good care and love for three years. She was born September 11, 1926 in La Crosse, Wisconsin, the daughter of William and Mabel (Johnson) Faas. Betty married Virgil Marx in 1933.
While knitting and watching tennis, Betty “let Virgil cook because he didn’t like mine”, she told us, but Virgil enjoyed Betty’s baking “buckets of cookies”, which she brought to grandchildren eventually. Betty enjoyed her grandchildren and her friends and the “herd of cats” that followed her on her walks while she lived in Rosendale, Wisconsin.
Betty is survived by one son, Robert (Eydie) Marx of Fond du Lac; grandchildren, Jon (Michelle) Marx, Christopher Marx, Ted Marx, Rob (Noelle) Millay, Laura Liebelt, Ryan Liebelt, Jonathan (Dawn) Liebelt, Matthew (Adelyn) Liebelt, Mikel Liebelt, Brian Ridley and many great grandchildren. Her siblings include: Bob Faas (deceased); William Faas Jr (Beverly), Marlene (Don) Horstman, and Dolly Grapes. Betty was proceeded in death by her parents, husband, Virgil, and daughter in law, Roberta Marx.
A private family celebration will be held. Cremation has taken place and inurnment will be in Mormon Coulee Memorial Park in La Crosse, Wisconsin.
