Betty J. Tautges

Betty J. Tautges, 87, a resident of Woodlands Senior Park for the past three years, died Wednesday, October 3, 2012. She was born March 29, 1925, in South Bend, Indiana, the daughter of George and Beatrice H. Wells Carter. After her marriage to Fredrick Tautges, Jr. she moved to Fond du Lac in 1946. He preceded her in death on March 1, 2003. Betty was formerly employed by The Sport Shop and was an assistant manager of the Military Road McDonald's store. She was a member of the Church of Peace United Church of Christ where she had taught Sunday school. Surviving is a daughter, Linda (Joe) Braun of Fond du Lac, two sons, John (Carol) Tautges of Hartford, and Tom (Beth) Tautges of Monroe, seven grandchildren, Samantha (Casey) Burkhardt, Tony Braun, Ryan Tautges, Craig (Erin) Tautges, Brett Tautges, Ryan Gerber, and Kyle Gerber, two great-grandchildren, Alaina and Benjamin Tautges. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and a brother, George Carter, Jr.



Visitation for Betty J. Tautges will be on Saturday, October 6, 2012, from 10 AM to 12 Noon at Uecker-Witt Funeral Home. Funeral services will be at 12 Noon at the funeral home. Rev. James F.D. Martin will officiate. Cremation has taken place. The family requests that memorials be directed to either Agnesian Hospice Hope, 239 Trowbridge Drive, Fond du Lac, or the Church of Peace United Church of Christ, 158 S. Military Road, Fond du Lac.
