Betty M. Crooks

Betty M. Crooks, age 84, died peacefully on Wednesday, July 15, 2009, at All About Life Rehabilitation Center in Fond du Lac. Born April 22, 1925, in Custer, Montana, she was the eighth child born to Edward and Lena (Schneider) Bartz. A proud 1942 graduate of Rosendale High School, Betty worked at Rueping Leather Company during WW II. On June 7, 1947, she married Thomas E. Crooks at St. Joseph's Church. He preceded her in death on January 22, 1983. Mrs. Crooks was a retired employee of First Wisconsin National Bank and enjoyed shopping for antiques, gardening, and spending time with her family. Betty was a member of Hope Lutheran Church for over 20 years. She was a very loving mother to her two children, Dennis (Patricia) Crooks of Slinger, and Karen (Terry) Steger of Fond du Lac. Betty was a devoted grandmother to Brian Steger of Cincinnati, Ohio, Bobbie Steger of Madison, and Derek Steger of Fond du Lac. Her parents, husband, five brothers, and three sisters preceded her in death.



Visitation for Mrs. Betty M. Crooks will be on Monday, July 20, 2009, from 3 to 6 pm at Uecker-Witt Funeral Home. Funeral services will be at 6pm at the funeral home. The Rev. Arthur Callies will officiate and burial will be in Rosendale Cemetery.
