Bettye J. Baker

Bettye J. Baker, 88, of Fond du Lac, died Sunday, April 9, 2017 at the Fond du Lac Lutheran Home. She was born March 27, 1929 in Brandon, WI, the daughter of Edward and Agnes (Swick) Batson. On October 30, 1948 she married Douglas A. Baker in Waupun. She worked at Winnebago Mental Health Center. Bettye was a member of Church of Peace in Fond du Lac. She enjoyed painting ceramics, cooking and baking, traveling on motorcycle, and loved spending time with her family.



She is survived by three children, Janet (Jack) Barr of Sun Prairie, Colleen (Daniel) Rains of Janesville, and Greggory (Debra) Baker of Fond du Lac; six grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; two sisters, Gloria (Bill) Guenther of Fond du Lac and Shirley (Daniel) Griffin of Fond du Lac; and other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Douglas, her sister, Beverly Hansen, her brother, LeRoy (Cathy) Batson, and one grandson, Jacob Hotchkiss.



The visitation will be held Thursday, April 13, 2017 from 3:00 – 6:00 PM at Uecker-Witt Funeral Home, 524 N. Park Ave, Fond du Lac. A private memorial service will be held at the funeral home. Cremation has taken place. Private family interment will take place in Estabrooks Cemetery.
