Beverly M. Fuhrmann

Beverly M. Fuhrmann, 83, of Fond du Lac, passed away peacefully, Sunday, April 10, 2011 at Grancare Nursing Center. She was born May 29, 1927 in St. Paul, MN, the daughter of Harold and Florence Widell Gardner. While living in St. Paul she sang in the Minnesota University Choir and also worked in Dairy Husbandry. Beverly left St. Paul and worked in the Surgeon Generals Library in Washington DC and later with NATO in the Pentagon. She held an Exemplar Degree in RHO Chapter of Beta Sigma Phi. Beverly married Gordon J. Fuhrmann in May 22, 1954 in Alexandria, VA. She worked with Industrial Relations in the Naval Air Station while living in Rhode Island. She then moved to Fond du Lac and worked for the Assistant District Attorney and later for Federal Crop Insurance. Beverly was a member of Community Church. She was Past President of Green Thumb Garden Club, Past State Vice President of the National Association of Letter Carriers Auxiliary, Past Local President of Local #810 NALC Auxiliary, Legislative Representative #549 of the National Association of Postal Supervisors, St. Agnes Hospital Auxiliary, and an intake coordinator for "This and That Craft Shop" at the Senior Center. Beverly was also a past member of the Newcomers Club, O.J. Gromme Ornithological Society and Fond du Lac Historical Society. She enjoyed gardening, fishing, sports, traveling including 49 states and several countries. Beverly was an avid bridge player and played in many clubs and marathons.SURVIVORS: one son, Thomas (Selena) Fuhrmann, Oshkosh; one granddaughter, Stephanie Williams; a son-in-law, Steve (Barb) Williams, Lomira; and nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Gordon; one daughter, Janet Williams; one brother, Rodger (Amy) Gardner.



VISITATION: will be from 2 "“ 4 PM on Thursday, April 14, 2011 at Community Church, N6717 Streblow Drive, Fond du Lac. The memorial service will be held at 4 PM on Thursday, April 14, 2011 at Community Church with Rev. Ken Nabi officiating. Cremation has taken place.In lieu of flowers memorials are appreciated to the Fond du Lac Audubon Society or the Green Thumb Garden Club.Uecker-Witt Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
