Beverly V. Travis Beverly V. Travis, 29 at heart, a resident of St. Peters Place, Fond du Lac, died peacefully July 5, 2012, at St. Agnes Hospital surrounded by her family. She was born in Milwaukee, the daughter of Howard and Marguerite Gyorfy Berg. She was a graduate of Rufus King High School in Milwaukee. On April 14, 1956, she married William L. Travis of Milwaukee. He preceded her in death on October 20, 2008. A former resident of Port Washington, Beverly moved to Fond du Lac in 2010. Beverly was employed in retail fashion sales in Milwaukee for many years. Forever a diva, she was a trendsetter in the fashion world, enjoying dancing (her CB handle was "Dancer"), the Rolling Stones , playing bar dice, and a passion for the color purple. Bev was an avid football fan. She always enjoyed a lively discussion with her family about the sport. She cherished spending time at Feetie Cove, on Butternut Lake with family and special friends. Throughout the past 2 years Bev continued to make great friends and enjoyed life. Among her closest comrades were Dolores Fincke and Kim Patt. During the last few weeks, Bev was surrounded by close family and friends sharing many memories and celebrating life. She is survived by a son, William Travis of Brooklyn, NY; four daughters: Christine Travis of Pewaukee, Vickie (Glenn) Krueger of Fond du Lac, Laurie (Paul) Vetter and Julie (Gary) Winkelhorst, both of Port Washington. She is further survived by her grandchildren, Onallee Travis, Evan Frank, Willie (Kelli), Michelle, and Alysha Vetter, Jessica, Christopher, and Lisa Simonsen. Her parents preceded her in death.



A memorial service in celebration of Beverly's life will be held at 4:00 PM on July 13, 2012, at Uecker-Witt Funeral Home, 524 N. Park Avenue, Fond du Lac. Cremation has taken place and inurnment of cremated remains will be in Arlington Cemetery in Milwaukee. A memorial has been established in Beverly's name.
