Bonnie L. Evenson

Bonnie L. Evenson (Myers), 83 of North Fond du Lac (formerly of Clear Lake, IA) passed away Friday, July 10th at St. Agnes Hospital. Bonnie was born May 16, 1932 to Lawrence and Reva (Roderick) Myers. She attended Mason City, IA schools. She moved to Fond du Lac in 2006 to be near her daughters. Bonnie married Donald Amundson Feb. 12, 1949 and they had four children, Dennis, Donna, Jay and Jo Dee. She married Richard Evenson in 1990.

Bonnie held many jobs over the years. Most recently, right up until becoming ill, she was a foster grandparent at Roberts School and helped at The Boys and Girls Club in the summer. She was known by many as “Grandma Bonnie”. Previously she had also worked at the Fond du Lac Senior Center assisting with office work and the gift shop.

Bonnie loved to bake for family and friends. She was well known for her mint brownies, salted nut rolls and sugar cookies.

Her survivors include: Dr. Dennis Amundson (Stephanie) of San Diego, CA, Donna Amundson of Fond du Lac, Jo Dee Williams of Van Dyne, her brother Gordon Myers and wife Sharon of Clear Lake, IA, 11 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her parents Lawrence and Reva, husbands Donald Amundson and Richard Evenson, son Jay Amundson and his wife Linda.

A family burial will be held back in Iowa at a future date along with a celebration of life at that time. Cards and memorials can be sent to the family at: Jo Dee Williams, N9551 Van Dyne Rd, Van Dyne, WI 54979. Memorials will be used towards a donation in her name to Roberts School.
