BRUCE A. TOURBIERAugust 23, 1955- December 17, 2010Bruce A. Tourbier, 55, of Rosendale died suddenly on Friday, December 17, 2010 in Columbus, Wisconsin. He was born August 23, 1955 in Watertown, WI, the son of Martin and Marcella (Braatz) Tourbier. On December 28, 1996 he married Amy L. Hoose at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Elwood, Indiana. He was a 1973 graduate of Watertown High School where he was on the wrestling team and captain of the football team. He earned a Bachelor's degree from UW-Stevens Point and a Master's degree in Agronomy from UW-Madison in 1982. Bruce was known for his dynamic personality, quick wit and fierce competitiveness. In 1982, he began his career as an agronomist with Pioneer Hi-Bred International, Inc. Over the years, he enjoyed working with growers from across the state. He was a Certified Crop Advisor, an affiliate director representing the seed industry for the Wisconsin Corn Growers Association, member of other various agri-business organizations, and member and past president of the Laconia Wrestling Club. He loved tending to his apple orchard, sports of all kinds, especially football and wrestling, and all types of music. He had a passion for reading and for gaining knowledge.Surviving are his wife Amy of Rosendale; mother Marcella of Beaver Dam, WI; two sisters, Judy Saniter of Beaver Dam and Bonnie Cate of Marshall, WI; one brother, Jim (Ann) Tourbier of Ixonia, WI; father-in-law and mother-in-law Jim and Dee Hoose of Elwood, IN; one brother-in-law Matt (Mary Ann) Hoose of Elwood, and one sister-in-law Jill (Scott) Weddell of Tipton, IN; and several nieces and nephews. In addition, he is survived by the Laconia Wrestling Family and the Rosendale Adult Weightlifting Group. He was preceded in death by his paternal and maternal grandparents, his father, and a brother-in-law, Wayne Saniter.



VISITATION: Friends may call on Tuesday, December 21, 2010 from 4 to 9 PM at the Laconia High School auditorium, 301 W. Division St., Rosendale, WI. FUNERAL: A Memorial Mass will be celebrated at 11 AM on Wednesday, December 22, 2010 at Our Risen Savior Catholic Church, W8272 Forest Ave. Rd, Woodhull, WI with Rev. John Simon officiating. Per Bruce's wishes, cremation will follow the services.
