Bruce E. Lemke, 72, of 342 Bischoff Street, died Friday, October 22, 2010, at Aurora Medical Center in Oshkosh surrounded by his family. He was born March 24, 1938, in Fond du Lac, the son of Ernest and Leona Scheibach Lemke. On May 25, 1963, he married Nancy A. Simon in Fond du Lac; they were married 47 years. Bruce retired from UPS after 30 plus years, logging over one million accident free miles. He was a proud and active member of the Teamsters Union. Bruce served in the US Marine Corps serving from 1957 to 1961. He had a passion for flowers and the outdoors-everyone was envious of his green thumb. When he wasn't enjoying his roses, he could be found watching the Packers, NASCAR, and the History Channel Surviving is his wife, Nancy, two daughters, Chris (Mike) Gagne of West Bend, and Jackie (Mark) Kottke of Oakfield, a son, Mark (Susan) Lemke of Milwaukee, four grandchildren, Abbey, Brady, Joshua, and Taylor, and a brother, Dale (Betty) Lemke of Fond du Lac, and many nieces and nephews. His parents, a brother, Keith Lemke, and a niece, Debbie Lemke preceded him in death.
Visitation for Bruce E. Lemke will be on Tuesday, October 26, 2010, from 3 to 7 PM at Uecker-Witt Funeral Home. Liturgy of the Word for Christian Burial services will be at 7 PM at the funeral home on Tuesday. Deacon Larry Hughes will officiate. Cremation will follow with inurnment of cremated remains in Estabrooks Cemetery. A memorial has been established in Bruce's name. The family would like to thank Dr. Sergi, his staff, and the staff at the Aurora Dialysis Center for the many years of care they provided Bruce. In addition, the family would like to also like to thank the staff at Aurora Medical Center in Oshkosh for the personal attention, compassion, and excellent care they gave Bruce during his final days.
