Carmen Lugo De Leon, 83, of 355 E. Scott Street, died Sunday, May 29, 2011, at the Fond du Lac Lutheran Home. She was born August 7, 1927, in Waco, TX, the daughter of Augustine and Francisca Hernandez Lugo. She married Benito De Leon, Sr. in Waco, Texas in 1950. He preceded her in death on October 10, 1970. Mrs. De Leon was a member of First United Presbyterian Church where she and her husband served as Elders. Surviving are two sons, Benito (Kari) De Leon, Jr. of Boyds, MD and Jimmy De Leon of Fond du Lac, and a daughter, Dianna (David) Krebs of Murfreesboro, TN, four grandchildren, Angela, Ryan and Amanda Gjertson, and Benito De Leon, a sister, Tommie Alonzo, and a sister-in-law, Trini Cardona. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, three sisters, Helen Sillers, Frances Rodriguez, and Emelia Arellano, and a brother, John Lugo.
Visitation for Carmen Lugo De Leon will be on Wednesday, June 1, 2011, from 9 to 11 AM at the First United Presbyterian Church, 1225 4th Street, Fond du Lac. Funeral services will be at 11 AM at the church on Wednesday. The Revs. Jack Harrison, Liandro Arellano, will officiate. Burial will follow at Rienzi Cemetery. Uecker-Witt Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
