Carol J. Schmidt

Carol J. Schmidt, 74, of Fond du Lac, died on Friday, June 14, 2024, with family by her side. She was born on February 12, 1950, in Fond du Lac, the daughter of Frank and Eunice (Duerr) Reinhold. On May 15, 1971, Carol married Fred Schmidt at St. Joseph’s Church in Fond du Lac. She was a member of Holy Family Parish and the Eagles Club in Fond du Lac. Carol worked at Mercury Marine. She was a Wisconsin sports fan but especially the Green Bay Packers. She enjoyed her Miller High Life, meeting with her friends down at Sully’s, scratching lottery tickets, but most importantly her family. 

She is survived by a son, Richard “Rick” (Carissa) Schmidt; five grandchildren, Amber (Andy) Liederbach, Cassie (Bryce Hansen) Schmidt, Ashley (John) Ford, Sami (Shelby) Dimick, and Mackenzie (Travis) Bielinski; six great grandchildren, Addi, Easton, Madelyn, and Mack Ford, and Emma and Dylan Liederbach; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, Frank and Eunice; husband, Fred; grandparents, Gus and Tillie Duerr and Fred and Elizabeth Reinhold; sister, Shirley (Jim) Gehde; and great grandchild, Camden Liederbach.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday, July 14, 2024, from 11:00 AM – 2:00 PM, at Rick’s residence, 816 Grove Street, Fond du Lac, WI. Cremation has taken place.
