Carol A. Schumacher

July 31, 1938 — April 22, 2003

Carol A. Schumacher 64, of N9227 Hass Road, Van Dyne, entered into eternal life with her Lord, surrounded by her family, on Tuesday, April 22, 2003 at St. Agnes Hospital in Fond du Lac.

She was born on July 31, 1938, in the Town of Springvale, a daughter of Merwood and Margaret Zweiger Paul. 

On Aug. 18, 1956, she married Eugene “Gene” Schumacher at United Church of Christ in Ripon.

Carol was a 1956 graduate of Rosendale High School and a faithful member of Immanuel Lutheran Church in Oshkosh.

She enjoyed her two card clubs, her crafts and traveling. She also was a member of the Pickett Steam and Gas Engine Club. Family was always the central focus of their life, and she created many unique traditions, which will be carried on by her family. Survivors include her husband of Van Dyne; four daughters, Cheryl (Gary) Abraham of Van Dyne, Tammy (Rick) Yoblonski of Oshkosh, Trisha (Joe) Birschbach of Lamartine and Janae (Ray) Simon of Eldorado; 13 grandchildren, Eric, Kevin and Laura Abraham, Andrew, Megan and David Yoblonski, Cody, Tarah and Grant Birschbach, and Colton, Austin, Fallon and Alison Simon; two sisters, Alice (Lowell) Schumacher of Rosendale and Mary (James) Schabel of LeRoy; one brother, Darrell (Kazue) Paul of Okinawa, Japan; and many nieces, nephews and close friends. 

Her parents preceded her in death. 

Services: Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, April 26, 2003, at Immanuel Lutheran Church, 338 N. Eagle St, Oshkosh. The Rev. David Pagel will officiate. Burial will follow at Rosendale Cemetery.

Visitation: From 3 to 8:30 p.m. Friday, April 25, 2003, at Uecker-Witt Funeral Home, and on Saturday, April 26, from 9:30 until the time of services at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Oshkosh. 

In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established. 

Uecker-Witt Funeral Home is serving the family.
