Carolyn M. Lemke, 75, died Thursday, March 18, 2016 at the Hospice Home of Hope in Fond du Lac. She was born in Fond du Lac on September 30, 1940, a daughter of Raymond and Marion (Fruehbrodt) Simon. She married Wesley Lemke on Oct. 28, 1960 and had one daughter Deborah.
Carolyn was a member of Holy Family Catholic Community. Carolyn’s daughter was born with Cerebral Palsy and over the years, she and her mother worked tirelessly making arts and crafts for the Fond du Lac Mall Cerebral Palsy fundraisers. She was an avid bowler and did so for many years. She also enjoyed going to Oneida with Wes for a weekend of gambling. When Wal-Mart opened Carol started working there and stayed until her retirement in 1999.
Survivors include her two sisters; Nancy (Simon) Lemke and Susan (Donald) Diedrich; nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and close friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Wesley; and her beloved daughter, Debbie and one brother in law Bruce Lemke.
A visitation for Carolyn will be held Saturday, April 2, 2016 from 4 to 7 PM at the Uecker-Witt Funeral Home, 524 N. Park Ave. in Fond du Lac, with family prayer at 7 PM. Cremation will follow the service and burial will take place in Calvary Cemetery Fond du Lac at a later date in.
We would like to send a special thank you to Dr. Sergi for all the wonderful care given to Carolyn over the years, as well as nurse practitioner Joanne Stephany. Thank You for going above and beyond the call of duty. Thank you to all the wonderful staff of Hospice Home of Hope.
