Carter S. VanLuven, 58, of Fond du Lac, died Tuesday, August 5, 2014 at his residence after a courageous battle with pancreatic cancer. He was born June 27, 1956 in Michigan, the son of Sylvan and Verna Hornstra VanLuven. On October 24, 1981 he married Barbara A. Assaf in Fond du Lac. Carter owned and operated VanLuven Inc., a computer consulting business. He enjoyed traveling, golfing and NASCAR.
He is survived by his wife, Barbara VanLuven; one son, Andrew VanLuven, Fond du Lac; Barbara’s children, Joseph (Kathleen) Reinecke, Wautoma, Sara Hernandez, Fond du Lac, and Paul Reinecke, Fond du Lac; seven grandchildren, Anthony and Brianna Reinecke, Matt Bingen, Caitlin and Mitchell Hernandez, Jordan and Logan Reinecke; one great granddaughter, Brooklynn; one sister, Carmen Powell; two brothers, Carson (Christine) VanLuven and Carlon (Debbie) VanLuven. He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Carolyn Drews.
The visitation will be held from 11:00 am – 1:00 pm on Sunday, August 10, 2014 at Uecker-Witt Funeral Home. A Celebration of Life will be held at 1:00 pm on Sunday, August 10, 2014 at Uecker-Witt Funeral Home. Cremation will follow the traditional services.
The family extends a special thank you to the staff of Aurora Oncology and his Hospice Care Team for their care and compassion.
