Catherine Helen Fechhelm, 85, of Fond du Lac, died Tuesday, September 28, 2004 at Ledge View Nursing Center in De Pere, WI.She was born on July 26, 1919 in Milwaukee, WI, a daughter of the late George and Frances Terris (Tirintzis).On April 14, 1941, she married Eugene Fechhelm, at Presentation Church in North Fond du LacShe was a member of Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church in Fond du Lac.She was a Social Worker for the State of Wisconsin for approximately 17 years.She was preceded in death by her parents, a sister Helen, a daughter, Monica and Mr. John Cvrk from the Gourmet Mart in North Fond du Lac.Survivors include:Gene (Kay) Fechhelm of Harrogate, EnglandSusan (Roger) Duquaine of De PerePaul (Mary Beth) Fechhelm of Charleston, SCPhil (Amy) Fechhelm of Fond du LacGeorge (Connie) Fechhelm of Oshkosh4 grandchildren (Paula, Thomas, Rachel, and George) and 3 great grandchildren (Russell, Ian, and baby Catherine).Catherine is further survived by her sister, Barbara Chapman of Brookfield, sister-in-law, Bonnie Fechhelm and best friend Donna Klein of Fond du Lac.Her special pleasures in life were her music, reading, watching nature, gardening and socializing with her Philoptochos Society.Catherine was such a loving, kind and generous person who will be deeply missed by her family and friends.
SERVICES: A funeral service will be held at 9:30 a.m., Saturday, October 2, 2004 at Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church, 198 N. Macy, Fond du Lac with Father Peter Pappademetriou officiating. Entombment will be in the Chapel of the Risen Christ Mausoleum, Calvary Cemetery. Friends may call on Saturday, October 2, 2004 at 8:30 A.M. at the church until the time of service. VISITATION: Friends may call at Uecker-Witt Funeral Home on Friday, October 1, 2004 from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Trisaigon prayer services will be held Friday evening at 6:00 P.M. at the funeral home.In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the Ledge View Nursing Center, 3737 Dickinson Road, De Pere, WI 54115 for the health and well-being of the residence and loving friends. Catherine and the family wanted to thank the Nursing Home staff for the warm human touch and loving care she received during her stay.Uecker-Witt Funeral Home is serving the family.
