Catherine June Clark Lichtenberg

June 16, 1923 — November 26, 2006

Catherine June Clark Lichtenberg died Sunday, near her family's farm, in thetown of Lewiston near Portage, following a brief illness.Mrs. Lichtenberg was born in Yellowstone County Montana, on June 16,1923 on her parents ranch. She rode horse back with her older brother, Harold to school. The family returned to the family farm in Wisconsin around 1931. There she attended the Clark school and graduated from Portage High School in 1941. She attended the Columbia County Normal School and graduated in 1943. Mrs. Lichtenberg taught at one room schools including the Lewiston School and Dog Hollow School before accepting a position in Wautoma, Wisconsin. There she met and married her husband, Bob. They later moved to Lac le Belle and then to North Fond du Lac, Wisconsin.She enjoyed a successful teaching career in the North Fond du Lac School system for 31 of the 38 years she taught. She received her Bachelors of Science and Education Degree in 1960 from Marion College in Fond du Lac, WI. She was a founding member of the Alpha Delta Kappa service sorority. She was a 50 year member of the First Presbyterian Church of Fond du Lac.She is survived by a son John, her brother Harold Clarks children: Lori, Alice, Vicki, Martha, Robert, Patty, and Will.Mrs. Lichtenberg is preceded in death by her father Robert Clark, her mother Inez, her sister Irene, her younger brother, George, her older brother Harold, and her husband, Robert Lichtenberg.



Friends may call at Uecker-Witt funeral home, for visitation from 3-7 PM on Wednesday November 29, 2006. The funeral will be at the First Presbyterian Church in Fond du Lac on Thursday November 30, 2006 at 2 PM. A brief visitation will precede the service. The Rev. Barbara Carmichael will be officiating with burial at Greenwood Cemetery in Columbia County.
