Celestiae G. "Sally" Coyne

September 9, 1919 — August 26, 2015

Sally Coyne, 96, formerly of East 2nd Street in Fond du Lac, and a resident of the Fond du Lac Lutheran Home the past few years, died Wednesday, August 26, 2015. She was born September 9, 1919 in Silver Lake, WI, the daughter of John Kropp and Lillian (Doege) Kropp. She attended Fond du Lac Schools and graduated from Fond du Lac High School. On June 10, 1941 she married the love of her life, Harry T. Coyne at St. Joseph’s Church in Fond du Lac. Her family and her faith were the center of her life. She and Harry loved riding their Indian motorcycles with their friends. Celestiae worked at numerous jobs while Harry served his country overseas. She loved sports, especially the Brewers, Bucks, and Packers, and followed them religiously. She was a member of Holy Family Parish and was an active member of St. Joseph’s Parish before the consolidation. She was a member of St. Joseph’s Altar and Rosary Societies, the Daughters of Isabella, and Loaves and Fishes.



She is survived by her son, Michael Coyne and his wife Peggy of Madison; her daughter, Barbara Schneider and her husband, Jim of Fond du Lac. She is also survived by her five grandchildren, Jeremy Schneider and his wife, Kayla of Whitefish Bay, Thomas Coyne and Nicole Cola of Stoughton, Jenna Polkus and her husband, Greg of North Prairie, Katie Coyne Ftorek and her husband, Casey of Hebron, Maine, and Benjamin Schneider and Amy Beschta of Milwaukee; two great grandchildren, Natalie Jane Polkus (her little honey) and Lillian Ruth Polkus (her little cutie). She is further survived by two sisters-in-law, Helen Schmitz of West Bend and Audrey Leslie of Greendale; many nieces, nephews, and other relatives. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Harry on December 30, 1972; one brother, David Kropp and his wife, Marie; two brothers-in-law, Elmer Schmitz and Edmund Coyne and his wife, Wanda.



The visitation will be held from 9:00 – 11:00 am on Monday, August 31, 2015 at Holy Family Church, 271 4th Street Way. The Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 am on Monday, August 31, 2015 at Holy Family Church. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery.



The family extends a special thank you to the Agnesian Hospice and the 3rd Floor nurses at Lutheran Home for giving Mom comfort, loving care, and support.
