Charles "Chuck" A. Sabel, 83, of 160 Bischoff Street, died Monday, January 15, 2007 at his residence. He was born February 28, 1923 in Fond du Lac the son of Ben and Marcella Guelig Sabel. On September 30, 1950 he married Nora J. Wood at Presentation Church, North Fond du Lac. He was a veteran of the U. S. Air Force. Chuck was employed with Tack Oil Company for 39 years and after his retirement he worked for Ferrell Gas and Pat Guy Paint and Glass. He was an active member of Holy Family Parish "“ St. Patrick's Church for 55 years. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus Council #664, St. Joseph's Society, Catholic War Veterans, Fond du Lac Eagles Aerie #270, Izaak Walton League of America, and the We Love to Dance Club. He enjoyed fishing, bowling, horseshoes, playing cards, dancing and gardening. SURVIVORS: his wife of 56years, Nora Sabel, Fond du Lac; two sons, Daniel (Gayle) Sabel, Fond du Lac and James (Kimberly) Sabel, Hillsboro, Oregon; three daughters, Marlene (Bill) Cary, Nancy (Rick) Pflum, Diane (Dan) Klaske, all of Fond du Lac; nine grandchildren, Pam (Craig) Tollefson, Andrea and Stacey Sabel, Janet (Ryan) Smith, Patty (Michael) Treleven, Melissa, Tony and Jessica Pflum, Peter Klaske; three great-grandchildren, William Smith, Ethan and Ashton Treleven; three brothers, Donald (Lois) Sabel, Fond du Lac, Harry (Ardis) Sabel, Ripon, Gordon (Inez) Sabel, Ripon; two sister, Marie (Lawrence) Kraus, St. Peter, Agnes Perry, Rosendale; nine sisters and brothers in law; Myrtle Sabel, Fond du Lac, Gerald (Betty) Langenfeldt, Eldorado, Alice Hoeppner, Therese Wood, Franklin Wood, Fond du Lac, John (Dorothy) Wood, Rochester, MN, Lorraine Higuchi, Spokane, WA, Joseph Zamzow, Fond du Lac; many nieces and nephews and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, father-in-law and mother-in-law, John and Ellen Burgess Wood, three brothers, Gilbert, Oscar, and Richard Sabel, one sister, Gladys Langenfeldt, brothers in law, Donald Perry, Hank Wood, David Wood and Darold Hoeppner, two sisters in law, Aileen Zamzow and Dorothy Sabel.
VISITATION: will be held on Wednesday, January 17, 2007 from 4 "“8 PM at Uecker-Witt Funeral Home. Prayers will be held at the funeral home on Thursday, January 18, 2007 at 9:30 AM and a Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 10AM at Holy Family Parish- St. Joseph's Church. Rev. James Jaeger will be officiating. Entombment will follow at the Chapel of the Risen Christ Mausoleum, Calvary Cemetery. Trier-Puddy American Legion Post #75 will conduct military graveside services.Uecker-Witt Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
